Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Stunt Mayhem
My team and I had a blast working on Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Stunt Mayhem. Think of it like Tony Hawk Pro Skater, but with monster trucks. (No Tony. thought that would have been pretty rad.) We were involved from the start, working closely with the Producers and Marketers on Mattel’s Digital Gaming team to shape everything from concept to the final marketing push.
Concept:
From the beginning, we collaborated with the internal teams to lock down the game’s core theme, blending the toy world with real-world monster truck action. Our role was to make sure the game hit all the right notes while staying true to the Hot Wheels brand.
Development:
As the game evolved, we reviewed and art-directed the story, in-game graphics, UI, and illustrations. We focused on making sure the trucks had distinct personalities and that their stories were clear in the gameplay. Everything—from the tracks to the stunts—had to feel authentically Hot Wheels.
Logo & Key Art:
We worked with the developer on the logo and key art, aiming for visuals that really captured the game’s high-energy, over-the-top feel. This game is also the first Hot Wheels Monster Trucks touchpoint to launch with our new Hot Wheels Monster Trucks logo! The key art had to be over the top, sell the action, and focus on our core hero trucks.
Marketing:
For marketing, we consulted and art-directed the release and announcement trailers, and consulted on all the marketing assets—social media, digital ads, and more.
